Choje Lama Wangchuk will be with us live in Los Angeles for this rare, timeless transmission of teachings. In conversation with Gurujas, he will share from the tradition of Vajrayana Buddhism, offering a unique perspective of how to work with the mind during the complexities and ever-changing modern age.

Choje Lama Wangchuk Topden is appointed as the very Venerable Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche’s body, speech and mind representative and was recently given the title of Choje (Lord of Dharma) Lama by the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa due to the important role he has played and will continue to have in upholding the activities begun by Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche. This was the first of this title bestowment, signifying the great respect, responsibility, and honor he holds. The Tibetan Buddhist lineage and Kundalini lineage are connected, linked through the Tantric energy. Being in the presence of a holder of teachings such as this offers a a rarified, transformative energetic opportunity.

    About Choje Lama Wangchuk Topden was born on 20th of November, 1983 (Lunar calendar: 15th of the 10th month) in Kathmandu; to his late father, Kunga Dhundup, and mother, Phurbu Dolma.

    In 1987, he started his basic education at The Very Venerable 9th Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche’s school (Shree Mangal Dvip School for Himalayan Children (SMD) located in Boudha, Kathmandu.

    In 6th grade, Lama Wangchuk became a monk and studied basic Buddhist education from the Late Khenpo Ngedhon, the most senior Khenpo at Thrangu Monastery. Lama Wangchuk was the first monk to graduate from SMD school.

    Thereafter, he continued his higher Buddhist Studies in the year 2000. Later on, he was appointed as The V. V. Thrangu Rinpoche’s secretary and attendant.

    In 2008, he entered the traditional three year retreat at Thrangu Sekhar Retreat center under the watchful guidance of the V. V. Thrangu Rinpoche and retreat master, Drupon Rinpoche Khenpo Lhabu.

    Lama Wangchuk completed his retreat in 2011 and resumed his role as the V. V. Thrangu Rinpoche’s secretary and attendant.

    In 2015, he was appointed the Chairman of Namo Buddha Buddhist Meditation and Educational Center which oversees all V. V. Thrangu Rinpoche’s projects in Nepal.

    On 26th June 2018, during the grand 33rd Birthday celebration of H.H. the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa at Karma Triyana Dharmachakra Monastery in Woodstock, New York, H.H. the 17th Karmapa bestowed Lama Wangchuk the title “Choje Lama”.

    During the Annual Long Life Puja (Tsedrup) at Namo Buddha, on October 31, 2018, the very Venerable Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche appointed as his body, speech and mind representative in front of more than thousands of his Sangha members.

    Since then, Choje Lama has been in charge of all the Thrangu monasteries, dharma institutes, schools, and clinic built by the Very Venerable Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche.


    Gurujas is a kundalini yoga teacher and a singer, songwriter, and musician. She has gained a worldwide reputation as the lead singer of White Sun, a Grammy-award winning band, and a Billboard #1 artist. Gurujas’ kundalini practice began in 2005, when she met her teacher, Harijiwan, who is also the founder of White Sun.

    As a kundalini yoga teacher, she is known as being intensely devoted to the accuracy of the teachings, as well as incorporating contemporary science and practical every-day applications. As a singer, she is known for her distinctive vocals, her ethereal live performances, and her ability to heal through song. She spends her time creating music, teaching kundalini yoga, working with clients, and raising her two young daughters.
