Kundalini Yoga: Let's Get Started
Kundalini yoga derives from the Sanskrit word kundal, which translates to “coiled energy.” Defined in tantra as spiritual energy that lies within the body, often at the navel or the base of the spine. Kundalini yoga is a form of yoga that involves chanting, singing, breathing exercises, and repeated poses. Its purpose is to activate your Kundalini energy, or shakti. As Kundalini yoga awakens this energy, it’s supposed to enhance your awareness and help you move past your ego. Sometimes, the practice is also called “yoga of awareness.”
