This Week in Astrology: Surf, Sun, and the Evening Stars

Mercury is at a standstill all week as it returns to its Direct motion (on Wednesday), which will set us up for a third pass through this murky Scorpio territory. Our musings may be circling in on themselves for a few days, though turning direct will help things begin to fall into place.

You may need to give it a minute for communications to come back online. We’re out of the post-shadow on December 7th. In the meantime, see if you can recognize the repeating patterns of the last few weeks. They’re trying to teach you something.

Mars moves from Libra into Scorpio on Tuesday, taking our energies from the teeter-totter to the deep dive. Our warrior brings courage to confront our fears, and may express its passions in a variety of ways.

The Sun emerges out of Scorpio onto the far shores of Sagittarius on Friday, carrying what it has learned in the depths up into the light as it heads out toward greener pastures. We may find that we need to leave some things behind, while others will be carried with us to evolve into healthier patterns going forward.

Sagittarius is also the setting for next weekend’s Venus Jupiter conjunction. This is a fortunate union in happy skies calling up prosperity, love, and joy. Both planets are viewable in the evening sky, following the Sun over the horizon line. Make a wish on the evening stars…
