Yogic Identity
Class Description
It’s common to want to rise above the mundane obligations of everyday life, to seek the light show and fireworks of meditation. However, a genuine path of spirituality isn’t always a spectacular. In fact, oftentimes a true practice of yoga is a very ordinary experience.
Yogic practice says very strongly that if you want anything to change in your life, you have to have enough energy to find beauty and elegance in the most mundane of tasks. Saturating and, even praising, ordinary life is a highly meditative and spiritually disciplined task that can earn anyone the title of yogi. Thinking that one has to “be” a certain way to earn a particular title or identity (“artist”; “yogi”; etc) is a way that we keep ourselves from going deeper.
At the same time, owning the identity of a yogi has a profound importance. The yogic heritage is inextricably intertwined with sharing the knowledge of intrinsic human divinity. While labels are not required for a deep practitioner, claiming oneself as a part of this ancient order is a meaningful act of human confidence and self-confirmation.
We are the infinite within the finite. Join Harmanjot in a heavily researched session and guided meditation on the yogic self-identity that will uplift your simple life and allow you true, exalted self-recognition.
