Every planet has “nodes” – positions in the sky where the planet’s orbital path crosses the ecliptic, the Earth’s path around the Sun on the celestial sphere. There are two nodes that directly oppose each other – the Ascending (North) vs. the Descending (South) – and they travel together across the zodiac.

As the Moon is the closest object to the earth, we are especially attuned to its rhythms and behaviors.
