Class Description

One of the largest trading platforms, Coinbase, defines cryptocurrency as “typically decentralized digital money designed to be used over the internet. Bitcoin, which launched in 2008, was the first cryptocurrency, and it remains by far the biggest, most influential, and best-known. In the decade since, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies like Ethereum have grown as digital alternatives to money issued by governments.”

But what is decentralization? What is the purpose of having an alternative to government issued currencies? With such a diversity of different coins (Bitcoin, Ethereum and all the rest) what can this mean for you?

Kandis Tagliabue is a cofounder of a trading company. Her background is in tech and finance. She began working with hardware as a teenager and transitioned to a financial advisor role at Merrill Lynch when she was 19. Since, she has continued her investing journey in many projects of a philanthropic nature. Kandis loves sharing her passion of investing with others especially women and marginalized groups.
