All of our problems occur when this finite storage unit gets overfull. It has to be cleaned and maintained. Senility, neuroses, and even mental illness can be viewed as the logical extreme of years of subconscious overload. It’s where all our fears & paranoia get stored. We are basically just trying to get ahold of ourselves–the conscious mind– to be ourselves. Subconscious patterns follow you from lifetime to lifetime, so it behooves us to deal with them now.

Learn how to not get caught in mental intrigue with your fears in a discussion of the “parapsychology of the moving thought-form.”  Often the fear of a feeling or experience is more debilitating than the experience itself.  For example, someone with a history of panic attacks has a fear, that becomes a phobia, that becomes a mental intrigue, with the thought of having a panic attack in the future.  This is evidence of the subconscious thought forms running the show.  And this, even if it’s hard to accept, is how we accumulate karma.  Luckily, kundalini yoga has specific, targeted exercises to clean all this up.
