Everybody knows love is the point of life, but Yogi Bhajan coined another term, “scientific love,” to purify the incredibly toxic animalistic love of the New Age that began in the 1960s and still unfortunately has a strong holdover today. (Refer to his best quote: “People of new age confused, people of personal essence perfect.”)

There are all kinds of love and it’s important to be appropriate to the specific relationship. Things like age are important; we’re not just souls, we’re in human bodies and it is inappropriate to not acknowledge our human existence. Therefore there’s appropriate and different ways to love everyone, from an acquaintance to a grandma to a romantic interest.

Your own specificity in life matters too. Cycles of consciousness change as you grow up and there’s different ways to treat yourself as you get older. Life cycles are helpful to know when you’ll go through particularly challenging times.

In your life, things will always be changes, so you don’t just want things to be calm and pretty all the time; you also need the ability to catch up or jump ahead or deal with crisis. However, you also need to be on top of yourself and prepare as much as possible.

In this Valentine’s Day class, Guru Jagat discusses resolving the inner mother and father phobia.  Guru Jagat says, “as a woman if you do not have a good relationship or you have a hard time keeping a relationship, it is actually not a father phobia, it is a mother phobia”.  And in a classic moment, Guru Jagat jokes “One thing we learn as yogis, if we continue to blame our parents for the lack of love we receive, we will definitely evolve.”

Rich relationship teachings as Guru Jagat explains the impact of using the Bhanda-Jameeai mantra in your home.  “If you want to resolve your mother phobia, play this mantra.”  You can dissolve your conflict “on the spot” using this mantra.

“Women are rational.  Men are logical.” Learn to worship this about each other and you will create a 1-2 punch!  Most women in the West, without a daily practice of resolving inner conflict, wind up with their husbands, partners & everyone around them.  Then everyone becomes unhappy.  Because if a woman is unhappy, everyone is unhappy.  The woman contains the man through her aura.

Don’t look down upon illusion. Everything is an illusion. Your partner becomes the spokesperson for who you really are. You know a relationship is going in the right direction with the combined aura of the partners is enhanced. It’s one or the other. When you live with somebody long enough there is intense irritation sometimes and intense warmth.

If you lined up 10 of your exes, they would all say the same thing about your anger. The common denominator is you. Anytime you’re fighting as a yogi in a relationship you really must get sober with yourself. Is this really what the world needs? Your need to be right causes battle. If you want a committed relationship, then drop the vibe that you’re going to devour that person.

Time for self-reflection. There are subtle adjustments you can make in your 10 Body System that will make you so much more attractive. That is what this class focuses on. Loosen some of the bottled-up emotional stuff and become more alive and embodied. You literally become 10-20x more attractive.

All the thinking and linear movements you do in a day is not going to get you the relationship you want. If you’re walking around as a big bundle of contraction and neuroses. Unpack that in this practice with these yogic technologies.

Here is a cool yogic tip for women in heteronormative relationship - look at a man’s feet and see how he grounds on the earth. That’s the first sign of the path he is on in life. If you’re in relationship and not getting what you want, welcome to relationship. Get over the tit for tat. Amplify your own natural gifts. Lead with these and forget the rest.

Advanced homework assignment: make a list of all the ways your past partners have gotten in the ring for you. They are saintly.
