Emily Goodson
With years of experience building workplaces as well as her own self-concept following a brain injury, Emily helps individuals and organizations overcome perceived limitations – both visible and invisible.

After experiencing a childhood brain injury at age eight, Emily was partially paralyzed on the left side of her body. In recovering from that injury, Emily rebuilt her body, re-learning to walk with two legs of different lengths, and becoming fully functional with the use of one arm and hand.

As an adult, Emily moved into building Talent & People departments in fast-growing startups – both as a Head of People and as an external advisor. And now she helps others through her writing, speaking, and workshop facilitation.

Emily was recognized as a Rising Star female business owner by the San Diego chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners in 2020. Emily’s expertise has been featured by American Express, Culture Amp, Lattice, Monster.com, and others. Emily is a published LA Times writer, served as an entrepreneur-in-residence to one of Verizon’s Forward for Good startup accelerators, and is an adjunct faculty member at George Mason University.
